Officer Dave York
July of 2008 marks my 4th year in law enforcement. I began my career in this field with the Eagle Police Department when I was hired as a part time Officer in July of 2004. I served for 3 months in the Village and was hired full time by the Walworth County Sheriff's Department as a patrol Deputy. I served a one year leave of absence from the Eagle PD during my probationary period at the Sheriff's Department and resumed my duties here on the very day I completed my probationary period. I continue to work for the Walworth County Sheriff's Department full time and part time at the Eagle Police Department. I enjoy it immensely.
Law enforcement has always been my calling but as in so many cases I needed to wait until circumstances with family life allowed me to enroll in Criminal Justice. I attained my degree at Waukesha County Technical College. At the completion of my training at WCTC I took a leave of absence from my position as a heating and cooling technician and entered the Police Academy also at Waukesha County Technical College. Once there I quickly acquired the nick-name of Gramps as I was the oldest student, at the age of 44. My only regret is that I could not begin my career in law enforcement earlier in my life. I believe the Eagle Police Department has some of the best individuals this field has to offer and I am happy to work with them. I also believe that the Village of Eagle has a great citizens and I enjoy working for them.
